Good News: A Grand Slam! LVTC Included in Four Lists of China Vocational Education Quality Annual Report 2021

From News Center (Text/photos by Xu Juan, Publicity Department of the Party Committee) Recently, the China Vocational Education Quality Annual Report 2021 (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"), jointly compiled by the National Institute of Education Sciences (NIES) and National Joint Conference of Vocational & Technical College and University Presidents, released the four important lists that have attracted the attention of higher vocational colleges all over the country, namely, Higher Vocational Colleges with Typical Services and Contributions, Top 100 Higher Vocational Colleges with Excellent Student Development Index, Higher Vocational Colleges with Resource Construction Advantages, and Top 100 Higher Vocational Colleges with Excellent Teacher Development Index. Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College (LVTC) was successfully included in the four lists, winning a grand slam! LVTC has become one of the 17 higher vocational colleges in China and the only one in Guangxi to be included in the four lists. This accomplishment demonstrates LVTC's outstanding performance and unique contribution in fighting against the epidemic, serving national strategies and regional economic and social development, optimizing teaching resources, and focusing on teaching staff construction and student development.

By evaluating higher vocational colleges from five dimensions of service and contribution, student development, education and teaching, governmental responsibility, and international cooperation, the Report shows the development of China's higher vocational education in 2020. Based on 11 indexes in 4 dimensions of capital input and hardware resources, human resources, curriculum resources, and school-enterprise cooperation resources, the Report selected 60 higher vocational colleges with resource construction advantages; Based on 19 indexes in 4 dimensions of student development, education and teaching, social services, and practical teaching, the Report selected the top 100 higher vocational colleges with excellent student development index; Based on 6 primary indexes such as basic level of teachers, development support capacity, and course teaching capacity, and 26 secondary indexes such as student-faculty ratio and quality of double-position teachers, the Report selected the top 100 higher vocational colleges with excellent teacher development index; Based on the analysis of quantitative data such as the quantity of employment, career choice, and economic benefits generated by technical services, the Report selected 60 higher vocational colleges with typical services and contributions in combination with the service and contribution cases of them. The teacher development index and student development index are released in the Report for the first time, which aim to guide vocational institutions to attach great importance to teaching staff construction, teacher professional development, and student development.

In recent years, LVTC has implemented the development strategy of "adhering to the leadership of party building, promoting the National Double High-Quality Plan, developing distinctive characteristics, and building a first-class vocational college in China", actively integrated into the local economic development, and served the local economy, industrial construction, and enterprise development in many aspects such as talent cultivation, technical support, and social training, thus forming the distinctive school-running characteristics of "relying on Liuzhou, industry and school interaction, promoting learning through industries, and serving the local". Taking "cultivating talents through strengthening moral education" as the fundamental task, reform and innovation as the driving power, and teaching staff construction as the key, LVTC has continuously promoted the integration of production and education and school-enterprise cooperation, deepened the education and teaching reform, strengthened the construction of internal governance system, and built a highland for talent cultivation and innovation service, striving to make contributions to the industrial development of Liuzhou and explore the way of high-quality development of higher vocational colleges in the new era.

Being included in the four lists is not only a full recognition of LVTC's achievements and contributions but also an important achievement of LVTC in the first year for the "14th Five-Year Plan". In the new journey of high-quality development, LVTC will keep improving and make new achievements, promote the construction of the National Double High-Quality Plan, drive the development of the "14th Five-Year Plan", open a new chapter of the high-quality development of LVTC, and contribute to the local economic development in Guangxi.
